So you are planning to buy a laptop this year and want it to boast of all the features that you've wanted. Right from ultra portability to having juice in its battery to last longer for an year, I mean 7-8 hours atleast and not to forget, it must handle games like Fortnite and PUBG too. Well, typically in a budget range of ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 it is difficult to find out such laptops, but who said it is impossible.

My basic verdict would depend on how the laptop is functional and able to pick up day to day chores, normal multimedia works and a bit of gaming for basic to mediocre gamers. And not to forget, I'll try to bring in laptops that have better display modules.

So to conclude the point above, I'll be putting in scores as

Routine Chores (x/10)

Multimedia (x/10)

Gaming (x/10)

Where x would be the score out of 10.

Read ahead to know which laptops are best to buy in 2018

Buying a laptop can get crucial, because investing such an amount for buying a wrong combination of processor and RAM management and being left out with a feel of not buying an entry level Macbook Air, which is a lame feel in my opinion as someone tries to settle for another entry level device which can only do stuffs of an entry level PC which you can avail for like 30% of the amount spent.

To clear the hassles, let's get started!

Lenovo Ideapad 320E 80XL0376IN

The Lenovo Ideapad 320E series features a robust design to be very honest. Island style keyboard that feels great to type has a great tactile feedback and sports an Intel Core i5-7200 7th Gen Processor with maximum clock speed of 3.1GHz that keeps this powerhouse running.

Regarding the speed, there is a 4GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 2133MHz that powers up the Lenovo 320E. There's a 8GB variant available for a bit of extra price too, check it out here. The storage is 1TB HDD. Don't expect a SSD for this price point.

Check some storage devices here.

Graphic department is taken care with a 2GB NVIDIA GPU, most probably a 940mx variant as I am unsure about it.

The only downside that turns my head down is the display. With such hardware, Lenovo tried to cut the costs by fixing a mediocre 1366x768 TFT LCD display, which is ancient but still many laptop vendors use the same. In my personal opinion, we have cheap smartphones running a FHD 1080p display but it is still a dream to mid-range laptops. God knows why.

Coming back to the verdict, here is my score card for Lenovo 320E80XL0376IN :-

Routine Chores - 9/10

Multimedia - 8/10 (display!)

Gaming - 8/10

HP creates some serious devices. Pavilion 15 BS164TU is one of them.

The device features a 15.6" Full HD 1080p display which states a great multimedia beast to-be in the list.

Further increments over Lenovo 320E -

8th Gen Intel Core i5 - 8250U Processor (1.6 GHz base frequency, up to 3.4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)

4 GB DDR4 RAM

Intel UHD 620 Graphics

Here, the other noticeable difference includes sporting an integrated graphic module by Intel.

Score card :-

Routine Chores - 10/10

Multimedia - 9/10 (again, display!)

Gaming - 6/10

Here, the 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor plays a key role in the terms of processing power, which basically is clocked at 1.6GHz but can be clocked at 3.1GHz and hence the Routine higher.
Similarly there's sort of buzz around the web regarding the new 3rd gen of the Zenfone lineup by Asus.
Below are some images of the unofficial renders which are believed to be close to the original devices.

Rumors are there that the Zenfone 3 will sport the same 5.5" 1920x1080 display module (nothing clear about the technology, let's hope for a clear black OLED this time!) and will be seen running on a QS 650 SoC topped by 3GB RAM.

Talking about the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, it'll hold a bigger and lesser pixel dense screen, a 5.9" 1280x720 unit and maybe the internal specs be the same this time. Out of the box, there will be ZENUi seen running over 6.0 Marshmallow. No clear news about the cameras too. Hopefully there must be atleast 12mp Rear /8mp Front combo.

This time it's seen that the devices will hold a physical tactile response button alongside two touch-capacitive keys.

Maybe Asus is going to launch the lineup at the Computex 2016 which dates at May 31st, while the Zenfone 2 was launched at the CES 2015 while Deluxe version of it was launched in September '15.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841360479509624070.post-60340822103939225632015-06-16T20:57:00.000+05:302015-06-16T20:57:16.220+05:30Unveiled: Sony Xperia Z4v. Upgrades over Z3+ and is Exclusively Verizon.Hello readers, sorry for a gap between my previous post and this one,
all due to some boozy reasons I'll never prefer to share. ;)
Here comes another flagship model by Sony- Xperia Z4v. As of the news, it's exclusive for Verizon Cellulars(as the V comes in the nomenclature). It is said to be minorly upgraded version of the Z3+, or as of Japan, they call it Z4.

Sony Z4 Stock Image

Speaking
about the specifications of the device, the display will be sporting a
WQHD 5.2" display, as of Z3+, it was a 1080p model. Talking about the
upgrade, charging options are flown up with added PMA Charging unit and
Qi technology(for those who don't know click here to know).

Apart
from the swapped postions of front camera and the rear cam as compared
to Z3+, the battery pack has been increased to 3000mAh. Z4v uses the
same powerhouse as the Z3+. Tranlating it, I mean by the same Snapdragon
810 SoC and 3GB RAm module and 32Gb onboard storage. For the photobugs,
20.7MP Rear and 5.1MP(for the duck face and pouted selfies, kiddin!) Front camera module will be there.

Verizon
Xperia's are not new in the race, as the Z3v was one, Z4v is another.
Yet, it has IP65 and IP68 ratings for water and dust proofing. No news
about the pricing yet, as of now. We, frankly have no news about the OS version it will work on. If confirmed, it'll be edited.

Do comment, critique and follow me over my Google+, and my Wordpress.
So being a geek, what are my expectations from it? What basically is it meant to be?

1. Security and Privacy.
After watching the live Launch event over YouTube yesterday, all the speakers had a positive bend towards the security and privacy concerns of the device.

As we all know, in the nerdy techie world, or talk about a simple sophisticated guy. Who would love their data to be captured by a long horn company's server? Whatever they make of it, but nothing is safe in this world.

Yureka, which comes exclusive with Cyanogenmod, it will be focusing over the security issues like a treat. Users will be allowed to grant the permission they want on their app. This would be very helpful in terms of unusual data transmission in background and other several-not-major issues.

2. More personal.

The guy's at Yu promised to give out 2 free custom themes in the beginning, which would be (I guess) community submitted artwork and will be launching more themes later on with further updates.

We all use launchers, Nova Prime being my personal favorite. But Cyanogen themes gives you option to have full control over the visible screen area. Which includes buttons, layouts, fonts, and general things.

3. Performance and Performance..!
Being housed on by a 64 bit Octa core Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2GB DDR3 RAM, who won't have a tempt to taste some more muscular energy?

Well, I have been using an Asus Zenfone 5 a month after it launched in India. It has some good features too. If it can be a beast in terms of performance, why can't Yu be?

Also, DDR3 memory tends to suck lesser juice from the 2500mAh power it boasts of.

4. Say Cheese!

Well, this is the first thing I look after the processor and looks in a phone. Yureka boasts of 13MP front and 5 MP rear lenses. While, the rear one being a Sony Exmor R unit with f/2.2 aperture to tuck in the light.

This sounds great, but hey..! Did anyone shout SloMo?

Yes, the device is capable to shoot 60fps videos and maybe jump to 120fps in the upcoming updates.

Bottom Line.

Well it's not the end of my expectations. Maybe I'll be writing one more keynote for the remaining ones. Still, a hope to get a better Mobile phone from a home brand like Micromax can do many good deeds.

The phone is a new member of the G series by LG. Specs are mid-range.The device itself sports a 5" 720p screen and 4.4 Kitkat being horsed up by a 1.2GHz Quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM.
The back shooter is 8 MegaPixels and the selfie department has been taken care by a 2MP sensor.
Coming to the storage part, it has 16GB of onboard memory and SD expandibility.

As said, being a member of the G-series, these 4 tangy pieces sport a Laser Assisted focus just like the G3 had, plus the similar button-ey design on the back.

The eyes react while having any sort of notification and shake/get drizzy while one shakes the device.

There is a good news. The phone has a 4G LTE connectivity onboard and everything cooks up with the total powerhouse of 2610 mAh battery.

Source: GSMArena

Some of them maybe Android-only and some may be cross platform too. So I'll be showcasing on the Best free apps this week I used and loved so far. Applications I reviewed below, can be downloaded for free on Google Play Store, or particular App stores according to your mobile OS.

To start with, I would love to declare All the contents below are my part of personal opinion. None of the contents are advertised or monetize my webpage.

1. Shuttle Music Player.

To start with, I am a music guy. Even if I forget my bike keys, my earphones stills stay in my pockets.
Talking about Third Party apps, I use musiXmatch.
But this app is not less than it. Yea, musiXmatch is a cherry when it
comes to design, flawless-ness, ability to derive lyrics and floating lyrics.
Shuttle, is based on the Material design, the new reboot in Google's working area. It has a nice and effective Equalizer too.
Shuttle provides nice swiping and new layout like the recently updated Gmail and Play Music.
If not, then scratch your heads and think of the 'Big Billion Day', got it right? High Five Flipkart! News blogs were flooded with criticism they had in the hearts of audience they had against the 'out of stock' matters.

Well, the story doesn't end here. "What's the date today?",
correct me out XD ).

Who hates shopping? Well for something at lesser price? I don't either! But where shall I shop or find a product on a site hogged up with the HTTP Error! Overload! Heard it right fellas.
Everone cursed and blamed Flipkart for this, remember? Shopping giants like these should take care of their server traffic issues and make them clear ASAP!

Well, the day is still on the way, *fingers crossed*. Maybe will get to know the offers on the official site instead of the advertisements and promises made so far.
Moto G(2014) : Worth an update?Hello readers. How have you all been doing?

Its the burst of mid-year with many iPhone 6-y blabbering rumors out there, and there peeks in the new, fresh Moto G with size increment and a micro-sd slot plus some new features, would it be wise for 'Throw old and get newer' jingles?
Let's be clever.

Moto G(2014) IC: cnet.com

What's newer?

1. Bigger Camera Pixels.
Bigger here doesn't need to be confused with the ultra-pixels by HTC stuffs. The original G had a 5mp shooter behind it, and this newer toddler comes with an 8mp sensor. All I know is, mega-pixels don't do the job, the sensor, quality of the sensor, the light/aperture it takes in should be better. Pixel counts have nothing to with the final image quality. The image should be clear, but not exceeding the pixel interlacing and quality losses. Still, the bigger, the better!

2. Stereo Front Speaker grills, Hello Moto (big) E!
Looks like a bring over stuff from the Moto E. The front looks gorgeous. Something fresh!

3. EXPANDABLE! I missed my loyal SD card!
With the release of The Expendables 3 (lol), it seems, everyone is getting to the mainstream-but-useful expandable memories. The most awaited upgrade here! It was being missed by the Moto fans. But there's something good to say too. You get expandable memory with an inbuilt 16gb device for a price which falls around the non-microSD models of the 16gb Moto G(2013).
This would be a cherry on the cake, I hope!

4. Screen size and Less Bezel-ish design.
The reason why I love Nexus devices is because of it's thin bezel(say Nexus 5). Moto G(2) comes with this stuff too. Less bezels, more style, lesser overall size.

5. Updates, I love'em.
Google releases updates, and it strikes the bang-on moment on the moto/Nexus devices at the same time.

Final Verdict: -
Spending 12k for a phone like this, won't be bad either if one doesn't love the 'discontinuation' by Xiaomi.

Do write me up for your feedbacks.

Take care!
Hola Readers!

I am back again with something being tuned in my pockets. Yay, they are my new headphones.

Recently I ordered this headphone from Snapdeal. Site promised to deliver it withing 3-4 days, but I got it after full week. Maybe, there was some issue, the packaging was good though. I couldnt afford waiting for them to deliver it to my home after waiting for so much of time, I directly got it from there courier office(Bludart).
Talking about the looks, yay! they are awesomely designed, but turns to be a delicate piece of work though. The chrome bezel adds to its elegant finish.

After using it with
couple of devices including my Lenovo G570 and MMX Canvas 2 with MusicXMatch and activated Equalizers, I found this stuff to be an awesome device.
The PNY Trend series In-ear headphone comes with a gold plated 3.5mm jack, which means greater quality output.

It comes pre-bundled with 2 pairs of ear gel, both large and small(and Mid-sized pre-fitted in the packaging) to fit everyones ear sizes.

One thing I was dissapointed with was, that it doesn't come with a pouch for storing it.

Yeah! It does tangle being in the pocket. :(

Hola readers!

I have been using Micromax Canvas 2 since February'13 and it turned out to be a solid piece of work by the company. After selling my tiny Galaxy Y for some mere bucks, I was awestruck by the change in size between both these cells my palm faced. It was pretty bigger in the starting, and now if I hold an iPhone, it looks a new born baby in front of my Canvas 2.

Being a rough user and a mod-dy of Android, I love the way how customize-able it is, albeit its ROM's available by the DEV teams at XDA forums.

It came with ICS 4.0.4 pre-loaded in it, which I *officially* upgraded it to 4.1.1 JB, which is flawless and the Settings part is colorful these days. Jokes apart, now I have some second plans of upgrading it to some ROM and root it accordingly (yeah yeah! its still un-rooted)

Whatever it be, people still show off their highly paid Note-2's but I am completely satisfied with what I have in my pockets. It proved itself as a headturner, just because it doesn't have any brand logo on its front side.

Talking about the camera, its what you make of it!
I am a hobby photographer and I have used its camera
to the fullest. Focusing is even good in it.
Here is an example of it.

I have captured my trusty old Guitar in it and it looks fantastic.

Mostly every app work on it, and as it has got a Dual core 1Ghz Cortex A9 processor with PowerVR SGX531 GPU, which is way better than the traditional Adreno 200, which most phones in this price range use.

All in all, I am having a great experience with it :)

Cheers!
The AnTuTu benchmark I am showing is the same which Android Police revealed with their hands-on with this charm. [I haven't tested this product yet]. Nexus II 7 scores 18,000, which according to me will be great for a general tablet user.
So, talking about Lumia, days back Nokia launched the Lumia 1020. okay! won't be talking about it here.

Lumia 625, expected to be released in the month of September' 13 is said to be coming out with LTE (4G) with Cat3 and speeds upto 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL (correct me if I am wrong). It will sport a 4.7" IPD LCD capacitive display on the front panel with a resolution of 480*800p (~199ppi) and a Corning Gorilla Glass II protection.

For the storage thing, it has been given an 8 GB inbuilt storing capacity and expandable (microSD) external capacity upto 64 GB. On the back side, a 5MP Autofocus camera with LED flash on the top of it, and video recording capabilities such as 1080p HD recording at 30 fps. The secondary camera will be likely to be VGA.

Talking about the platform i.e the OS, Lumia 625 will be running on the Windows Phone 8, sporting a Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon chipset with a Krait 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor and Adreno 305 graphic unit with 512 MB RAM over it, hopefully will run everything smoothly. Battery will be likely to be Li-ion 2000 mAh (BP-4GWA) and yeah, if you are going to buy this, you will need to short out your SIM into Micro-SIM.

Other Specifications you can check here.

Well, this may be really weird to say that there are some ICS based Android phones in a range of 10k to 15k, but yeah! Micromax again did it. Micromax has recently launched 3 new Android smartphones, the A84, A90 & A100; out of which the A84 elite still runs on Gingerbread and the former two are running on Ice Cream Sandwich, and also some news is there promising and 4.1 Jelly Bean official upgrade. Well that would be the berry on the desert! The A90 comes with 1 GHz processor, ICS OS, 8MP camera and WVGA touchscreen and the A100 powered by 1 GHz processor and has 5MP camera with LED flash, 0.3 MP front-facing Camera.

The A90 is priced at Rs. 12,990 and A100 at Rs. 9999 only. Well the A90 is somewhat expensive because of the AMOLED display with which it is topped despite the A100 having the TFT LCD. Not to worry, you get what you pay for!

Here are some specification of the phones:
As I was suffering from a severe tonsil infection in my throat, so I tried updating my trusty Galaxy Y to the latest firmware, i.e.
PDA:LE1/PHONE:LE1/CSC:LD1
(as seen in my Kies app) but in my phone menu, the Kernel version is showing up as S5360DDLE1. I didn't used Kies for updating it, just did a FOTA update.
So here are some pics:
There are many changes like the lock screen and some bug fixes.
So, Samsung has added some new transition like the new Galaxy range for ex. Galaxy Mini 2.
The lockscreen has a nice lock/ unlock effect. Also some scrolling effects and the navigation bar effect have been changed.
All in all, a nice bug fix and look update.

Regards,
Anurag Ganguly | Anurag n Gadgets :)

Also check out my new tech n photography blog HERE
Its a nice and free app that you get from the marketplace and you can now save and install all your apps directly in your SD card. But, then also there are some apps which get stuck to the phone memory and therefore result and slowing down the device a bit. If you have downloaded App 2 SD onto you device, then have a look at this tutorial.

Step I

Open the menu and find App 2 SD icon.

My Views: -

The Samsung galaxy Y S5360 was targetted mainly for the youth gen ('Y' ). And these two phones with some higher specs like dual sim and a good camera, I think are for those business folks who love a cheesy CLASS sort of phones, mainly the Galaxy Y pro duos, the qwerty version of Galaxy Y duos. Well according to me, a phone is a phone at last, and I dont think about a business or a multimedia tag under a phone. Because, if the phone has simple design it is named after BUSINESS phone. Well, its our(consumers) choice to buy which one........

Well, its been a long time I wanted to share my experience in my 'gizmo' life with Nokia 5233. My Nokia is about 10 months old now. My dad bought it for me near about in the last December, and I was so happy when I got it, I can't even express that feeling, b'coz it was my first touch' phone which I got in my life. Actually I am a proud owner of the 'limited edition' chrome bordered version of Nokia 5233. It is my first touch phone and still it looks like a new one, b'coz I can keep my gadget's and gizmo's alive for a time longer that anyone else :)

Some of the things which I love in this phone include a nice and responsive touch screen, being resistive; extremely crisp resolution of the screen, which is very clear and wide enough to watch movies on it, so and so...This phone does not have 3G or WiFi on it, but its internet speed on edge/GPRS are fast enough to get the stitch on time which saves my nine, just joking but yea, its speedy enough.

It also has a nice Symbian S60 OS, which is, in my opinion, an okay-okay platform to start your journey with a smartphone or a touch phone instead of going with the Java phones. B'coz the os gives 'some' choices to the apps which can cut the boring time, but not as great as Android. Actually my dad first gave me choices between Samsung Corby and Nokia 5233, and as you know I opted for Nokia. I even like Corby, but it does not have as many features as Nokia and 8/10 people on the street had that thingy on their palm.

This is my one, still looks squeaky new.
Hello everyone, as we all know, the most awaited iPhone 5 is still in the list of 'To be Released' due to the death of Steve Jobs. But there are chances if iPhone 4s with Siri, a dual core A5 processor and a full HD 8mp camera to release in India next month. But there is still no news from the carrier companies in India.

The first to do is just like every time -wait, wait and wait!. Jokes apart, if got a chance to get an iPhone, then I will still wait for the iPhone 5, or get an iPhone 4 instead.
